This is a  wrought iron open surface mounted latch, measuring 3 1/2" high x 6 3/4" long.  The handle is a screw off handle used as the key, when you left the room you took the handle with you.  .This lock is non-reversible, it is left hand only, and will fit a door up to 1 1/2" thick.   Restored with a replacement rosette and ready to be installed.
